Maltings Field, Castlethorpe, Milton Keynes MK19 7EG

Description

Stonewater’s Maltings Field development at Castlethorpe offers a collection of two and three bedroom houses for shared ownership. Built by Snowdon Homes these homes benefit from allocated, off-road parking for two vehicles, and come with their own, fully turfed, private rear garden.

Castlethorpe is a village set in rolling countryside seven miles north of Milton Keynes city centre and close to the boundary with Northamptonshire. It lies on the northern edge of the Tove River Valley, which is designated as being a Landscape of Special Character. Castlethorpe is a charming village with a number of listed buildings, some dating back to the 15th Century. There is a village shop with a post office and a cricket square regarded as one of the best in the area.

The village has a thriving community spirit with local organisations always looking for new members and the village hall is kept busy with events. There are tennis courts, a basketball court and a free outdoor gym at the Sports Ground. One mile outside the village, on the way to Hanslope, you will find the Milton Keynes Equestrian Centre. Children in the village are catered for by Castlethope First School, rated Outstanding by Ofsted, a nursery, a youth club, a popular football club and two play areas.

Central Milton Keynes, a 14-minute drive away, boasts an array of attractions such as bars, restaurants, a large shopping centre, first class sporting facilities and cultural venues, including the 19th Century estate of Bletchley Park, The National Museum of Computing and Milton Keynes Theatre. A 30-minute drive in the opposite direction is the large county town of Northampton, famed for its market square and independent bars and eateries. The town of Wolverton, a 10-minute drive away, offers a large superstore.

For days out there is also a range of country parks and historic estates close by. The magnificent Salcey Forest offers walking and cycling trails, play areas and a café; the Canal Museum at Stoke Bruerne is the ideal place to embark on a stroll along the historic locks. Alternatively, Emberton Country Park is popular for its lakeside walks and the popular Willen Lake in Milton Keynes is home to the Splash ‘n’ Play water park as well as Gulliver’s Land.

Commuting from Castlethorpe is made easy by its close proximity to the A508, A5, A34 and the M1. Further afield, the cities of Birmingham and Oxford are both just over an hour away. Luton, Birmingham International and East Midlands Airports are also all within easy reach. Wolverton and Milton Keynes train stations provide frequent direct services to London Euston (30 – 45 mins)
